Build a School
Build a School
There are many obvious reasons for building schools but there are others that are no so obvious. Take for instance the first school we established in Eselalei -- the women in a Masai community do just about everything that requires effort. They work the land, build the houses, prepare the food and personal freedom of any kind is just about non-existent for them.
That completely changes when they get an education. They begin to see life differently and, therefore, they create for themselves a completely different and far more enjoyable and rewarding way of life.
There are many big reasons for building schools in third-world countries -- but we tend to focus on the little reasons or, at least, the more personal ones.

Why build schools?
Eric and Elise became inspired, as a result of their extensive travel and adventure programs around the world, to create community schools for children in communities too far from government schools to get an education.
In Tanzania, many of the Masai have to wait until they are 16 years old before they can handle the 10+ mile walk to and from school every day. This means showing up for primary school 10 years older than the other students. By establishing s mall community schools in their villages, we make it possible for them to keep up their primary education and get a great start in life.
